WHERE TWO FIND ME: CHIC AND STYLISH RESORT WEAR
With the arrival of summer, people go to resorts and beaches for a quick dip, ready to take a respite from the increased temperature, high humidity and scorching sun. Looking for chic, stylish resort wear, Steph learns all about the top trends for this summer with Where Two Find Me.
E-commerce site wheretwofindme.com began more than two years ago, when the duo of Marielle Santos-Po and Rosanna Ocampo-Rodriguez chanced upon a resort wear store abroad and decided to bring its colorful outfits locally.
Thus, the website was born, featuring a stylish array of designer pieces like tops, kaftans, dresses to pretty, one-of-a-kind swimsuit cover-ups for that coveted resort lifestyle and tropical glamour.
ADORABLE BABY AND TODDLER ESSENTIALS AT COTTONTAIL NOOK
As modern moms go mobile and online, it becomes increasingly easier to look up and shop for baby and toddler essentials. Bianca talks to Katherine Gancayco, owner of Cottontail Nook, an online store that offers a lovingly curated array of products for babies and toddlers.
According to Katherine, she got the idea of putting up the online store during a trip with her first child to Rome in 2013. Inspired by the idea of moms helping fellow moms, she became ecstatic to start her business and possibly help with pediatric products that are distinctively designed with kids in mind. From bringing in child-friendly health care products into the local market, Cottontail Nook soon found itself offering more baby essentials, beginning with linen swaddles for infants. Aside from lovely, ultra soft and baby skin loving lampins, Cottontail Nook also offers adorable baby accessories and princess-worthy Korean baby dresses.
PINOY PRIDE AND STYLE AT MANILA FAME
Steph visits the 65th edition of Manila FAME, a bi-annual showcase of craftsmanship, design innovation, and artisanship in Philippine products. With the help of Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) executive director Clayton Tugonon, Steph checks out finely selected furniture and home furnishings, holiday gifts and décor and fashion accessories.
Considered as the country’s premier design and lifestyle event, Manila FAME puts the spotlight on Filipino-made designs and crafts for the global market. Organized by the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through CITEM, it is the second longest-running trade show in Asia-Pacific. This year’s edition puts the spotlight on Mindanao’s rich heritage in textile and weaving tradition which uses iconic indigenous materials like coconut, bamboo, capiz and abaca and the innovative manipulation techniques that are currently being explored to come up with world-class products.
EDEN AND JUNE: REDEFINING MANILA’S CREATIVE SCENE
As a freelance writer and photographer, Chiara Garcia knows all too well how hard it is to get in touch with fellow creatives. Bianca talks to this content creator and talks about how to set an impact in Manila’s flourishing community of creators.
As a creator herself, Chiara experienced her fair share of challenges, and this led to the realization that would eventually inspire her to put up Eden & June — an established, familylike community where fellow creatives can constantly come together, share conversations, inspire, support, encourage and collaborate with each other. In this community, creators gather for mutual support and try to eke out a living from their respective crafts and crazy concepts.
