Volkswagen Philippines is set to release by end of the month two new versions of its passenger cars, the Jetta and the Golf GTS, which it sees as key models in helping drive sales growth this year.

“Later this month, Filipinos will get the chance to bring home the new version of Volkswagen Philippines’ number one-selling sedan in 2016, the Jetta. Along with the Jetta, the new Golf GTS will be available later this month,” Volkswagen said.

“This move is in line with its 2017 goal of doubling the record-breaking sales output in 2016, thus solidifying its leading position among European brands,” it added.

The Jetta through its six different generations has sold over 14 million units worldwide, while the Golf has sold over 30 million units in over seven generations of production.

In the Philippines, the Jetta will be available in four variants namely, the Business Edition+, Business Edition, Highline and Comfortline.

Golf GTS, meanwhile, will come in two variants, the Business Edition+ and Business Edition.

Jetta is priced at P1.1 million for the Comfortline, P1.2 million for the Highline, P1.25 million for the Business Edition and P1.3 million for the Business Edition+.

Golf GTS Business Edition will sell for P1.35 million while the Business Edition+ is available at P1.4 million.

“The Jetta and Golf GTS represent Volkswagen Philippines’ heightened drive to cement European leadership in the country in 2017. But more than just leading the way, Volkswagen Philippines offers to Filipinos the best allaround motoring lifestyle experience,” the company said.

Conglomerate Ayala Corp. is the exclusive distributorship of Volkswagen in the Philippines, which it secured in 2012.

This year, the firm seeks to double its sales to a little over 2,000 units with new product launches.
