SWATCH RELEASES ‘MELUSINE’ WITH BRIANDA FITZ JAMES STUART
Some legends are made...and some are born. For fashion designer, illustrator and DJ Brianda Fitz James Stuart, a noble birth was just the first of many steps along her journey to indie design queen. Now, Brianda has put her Midas touch on Melusine, a special collaboration with Swatch that invokes a strong feminine edge.
From sketching cheerful, hand-drawn prints to mixing the best of boho beats, the artistic Madrileña is a woman of many talents. After graduating from the European Institute of Design, Brianda moved to New York, where she worked with top artists and international fashion houses. But Spain’s siren song lured her home.
As a young girl, Brianda says her first colorful Swatch made her feel “special.” Today, she has recreated this extraordinary ethereal experience in Melusine. The legendary daughter of Elynas, King of Scotland, and the fairy Pressine, Melusine’s intriguing beauty hid a dark secret. Part woman, part serpent, her angelic face lured suitors in, while her scaly lower half was an otherworldly surprise. This Swatch collaboration blends whimsy and elegance, vision and mystery, bringing the complexities of both Melusine and Brianda’s dual nature to life.
