When 17-year-old Ysabella Antonia Abad walks into a room, her graceful demeanor and silent confidence conquer the surroundings. Her hard-not-to-notice porcelain skin and chestnut brown eyes are further highlighted by her positivity.

Five-ft.-five-in. Bella, as she is fondly called, lives the beauty of life. Her appreciation for simple things allows her to see the world in a different light. This appreciation leads Bella to churn out creativity through singing, acting and her interest in photography.

“When I was younger, I saw how my mom worked on the creatives. In a way, I got exposed to that industry, which I thought I would like to be in as well. Creativity has always been a part of me. I find it fun and relaxing. In the future, I see myself working on the creative side, that’s for sure. I love writing and I would like to possibly work for a magazine,” the charming beauty says. She also admits she loves being glammed up, especially for photo shoots. “I know in the future, whatever job I have will involve fashion because it’s something that excites me.”

The daughter of IT executive Paolo Abad, and entrepreneur and Digital Fashion Week’s Toni Abad, Bella has

collected a treasure trove of happy memories with their family’s local and foreign travels. In their family’s recent travel to Japan, Bella enthuses about how she and her family enjoyed the country’s cuisine and culture. She also enjoys how her family bonds through watching movies and going out for dinner.

“I love my family. I am comfortable with them. Their presence makes me happy more than anything else because they are the ones who know me best,” shares Bella, who also keeps the lessons from her parents close to heart.

“I learned from my dad to always be the best in whatever I do and to value hard work. I am able to apply those in school and whenever there is a path I would like to take or a goal that I would like to achieve. The best lesson from my mom is to be prayerful, especially in times of struggle. Faith was instilled in her at a very young age and she has passed that on to me. It helps me a lot especially when I’m feeling anxious or there are challenges in school or personal life because my faith is like an anchor. My faith brings me security. It’s nice to know that faith is present in my life,” she says.

Bella accepts differences in people that she meets and always grateful for what she has. She knows the nuggets of wisdom she has learned from people dear to her will allow her to stay on the right path. There is a whole world ahead of her as she is armed with a determined spirit and staunch faith, coupled with an unwavering support from the people close to her heart.

“I am grateful for simple things like waking up every day and that I am able to see another day. Some people tend to take that for granted. I also believe that you should pause for a while and appreciate the fact that you are alive today, that you are breathing. And also, knowing that there’s another opportunity that will come within the day. This relates to my happiness that if I am alive, I am able to see my family,” she concludes.
