4,000 overstaying OFWs to return from Saudi
Close to 4,000 overstaying and undocumented overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are set to return from Saudi Arabia in the coming weeks as the deadline for the amnesty program approaches.
“The workers will be arriving within the next days, one batch after another,” the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) reported.
The OWWA hopes that all those who registered would have returned home before the program ends in June. Yesterday, at least 250 arrived from Riyadh and Jeddah and given assistance by OWWA and the social welfare department.
Throughout the 90-day amnesty program, OWWA has been providing post-repatriation services, including counseling and livelihood assistance to the returning workers.
