9 killed in shootings

Nine persons, including four drug suspects, were gunned down in separate incidents in Luzon in the past two days.

Five were killed in Bulacan, among them Charlie Enriquez, 56, a resident of Malanday, Valenzuela City, who was at the house of her sister in Barangay Loma de Gato in Marilao when he was shot yesterday.

Frederick Ortiz, 42, a resident of Banga 2nd, Plaridel, was standing along the barangay road when he was fired at.

Generoso Cruz of Barangay Pungo, Calumpit was driving his motorcycle when he was waylaid on Wednesday.

Police said the victims were known drug pushers in their barangays.

Geronimo Salamat, professor at the Bulacan State University, was about to park his Ford Ranger in front of his house in Barangay Tanawan, Bustos when he was shot at around 7:45 p.m. also on Wednesday.

A certain Manuel Bautista was shot in Plaridel.

Pvt. First Class Richie Lib- rado of the Army’s 33rd Infantry Battalion reportedly drew his gun after he was caught sniffing shabu in a village in Koronadal City on Wednesday night. His companions surrendere­d and turned over several firearms and sachets of shabu.

Macario Susano and farmer Edwin Bristol were in Barangay Poblacion, Biñan, Laguna and Anib, Sipocot, Camarines Sur, respective­ly, when they were shot.

A man believed to be a victim of summary execution was found along the road in Barangay Romualdez, Rizal, Kalinga. The body of the victim, which was in an advanced stage of decomposit­ion, was hogtied while the head was wrapped in masking tape.

Meanwhile, Rodito Sabrido, 40, allegedly beat to death his mother Matilde, 68, at their house in Barangay San Vicente, Cawayan, Masbate on Tuesday.

Sabrido was reportedly high on drugs when the incident occurred.
