BLSS holds novice swim meet

Bert Lozada Swim School (BLSS), the country’s pioneer and leading swim school, recently held its annual First Plunge Novice Swim Meet and Take Your Mark Novice Swim Meet at the Philippine Columbian Associatio­n in Paco, Manila.

The fun swimfest was organized by BLSS for its students enrolled in their Learn-to-Swim summer programs and are competing for the first time.

Presented by Speedo, Toy Kingdom, Prudential Guarantee, and Hawk Backpacks, the twin swim tourneys drew 733 swimmers aged 3 to 52 from various BLSS venues in Metro Manila, Bacolod, and General Santos.

The Most Outstandin­g Swimmer (MOS) winners were Elisha Joyce Ferrer of Elizabeth Seton School Manila (8 years old girls), Jacobo Rodriguez of Bacolod La Herencia (9 years boys), Samantha Hodges of Bert Lozada Alabang Swim Team (6 years girls), Aniko Uy of Casa Montessori Mighty Aquas (5 years girls), Adriano Gomez of Casa Montessori Might Aquas (5 years boys), Georgina Akiko Kawazaki of Mahogany Sea Dragon Swim Team (4 years girls), James Matthew Dinglasan of Sta. Rosa Estates (8 years boys), Marta Rodriguez of Bacolod La Herencia (7 years girls), Francheska Billedo of Hotel ni Among Vigan (9 years girls) and Lorenzo San Miguel of The Grove (6 years boys).

BLSS is still conducting its summer swimming lessons as part of its continuing training program.
