Interbrand, the world’s leading global brand consultanc­y company lists start ups and early players in emerging markets that represent the next generation of brands that have become brand winners across a variety of new, emerging and evolving categories, says Nita Claravall, Interbrand’s executive director for the Philippine­s.

The rules of business seem to be changing constantly and no one model of success is dominant, so it’s particular­ly fascinatin­g when a company breaks through the noise and becomes a success, she adds.

Those success factors are what the global brand consultanc­y Interbrand set our to determine in its breakthrou­gh brands report.

There are 40 breakthrou­gh brands selected worldwide, and these were broken into the following categories : “The Working Future “focuses on career building and work flow with brands like Slack and General Assembly; “From Life Hacking to Better Living” are brands that are removing obstacles and solving problems for our everyday lives; “Not So Artificial Intelligen­ce “is a look at brands building new AI tools like 30 Seconds to Fly and Cylance; “Move Me” is about brands focused on the future of mobility like Drivy and Ninja Van; “Funding Change” is about financial organizati­ons like Square and Wealth Simple; “Experience­s on Demand” are brands that make it easy for us to get what we want, when we want it, like the Clique Media Group and Mikmak.

The brands that made it to the top 40 list have an equal balance between product quality, financial growth and brand strength.
