ABS-CBN lingkod Kapamilya helps the Marawi evacuees

In times of need and distress, Filipinos can always lean on a Kapamilya for help.

ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya – Operation Sagip recently brought relief and comfort to evacuees from Marawi City who were displaced from their homes due to the ongoing armed conflict. As of June 10, the group has already distribute­d food packs containing rice and canned goods to over 10,509 families or 52,545 individual­s, who are now staying in Balo-I, Matungao, Pantar, Pantao Ragat in Lanao Del Norte, Iligan City, Cagayan De Oro City and Misamis Oriental.

The distributi­on was made possible with the help of the ABSCBN Regional Network Group in Mindanao, ABS-CBN Integrated News and Current Affairs Team, City Social Welfare and Developmen­t (CSWD) of Iligan, Cagayan de Oro, and Marawi City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) of Lanao del Sur, Provincial Police Office of Misamis Oriental, Iligan City, and Cagayan de Oro, local Red Cross staff, Armed Forces of the Philippine­s, and the ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. North Mindanao staff.

Meanwhile, 1,000 displaced students enrolled in Lanao Del Norte also received new school bags and school supplies from Operation Sagip’s Gusto Kong Mag-Aral campaign. The project has been going around the Philippine­s to bring hope and inspiratio­n to young Filipinos in areas suffering from poverty and calamities. So far, Gusto Kong Mag-Aral has already distribute­d 82,292 bags in 33 provinces.
