Chevron, Grab PH tie-up offers Grab drivers fuel discounts and cash rebate

-

MARKETER of the Caltex fuels and lubricants Chevron Philippines, Inc. (CPI) inks partnership with all-in-one transportation solution Grab Philippines to provide fuel discounts to its growing pool of drivers. This is among Chevron’s numerous efforts to make quality and reliable service more accessible to businesses and motorists across the Philippines.

As part of the partnership, more than 10,000 Save Plus cards will be distributed to Grab drivers in leading operating cities. The Save Plus cards will entitle Grab drivers to price discounts: P2 off per liter on gasoline and P1 off per liter on diesel.

Additionally, Grab drivers purchasing gasoline will have an additional rebate. The accumulated rebate will be redeemed in the form of weekly Top Up Load, virtual money that allows GrabCar drivers to pick up more passengers. This initiative encourages Grab app usage while enhancing the overall Grab driving experience.

Grab started in 2012 as MyTeksi, a taxi-booking app founded by Harvard Business School graduates Anthony Tan and Tan Hooi Ling in Malaysia. The company invested USD 16 million in safety measures aside from driver trainings, regular seminars, vehicle checks and exams.

Today, Grab’s operations span six Southeast Asian countries, including the Philippines where they have rapidly expanded since launching in 2013. With a developing product portfolio – GrabTaxi, GrabCar and GrabExpress - the app is widely used in developed Philippine cities like Manila, Cebu, Davao City, Iloilo, Bacolod, Baguio and Cagayan De Oro.

“Partnering with leading transportation solution, Grab Philippines, reinforces Chevron’s commitment in encouraging business growth for emerging MSMEs in the country. Our partnership allows us to be of greater service to our motoring clients, while empowering more businesses to prosper, and providing employment opportunities to more Filipinos,” CPI country chairman Peter Morris shares.

“This partnership with Chevron Philippines is for the benefit of Grab drivers who are usually affected by fuel hikes. Providing them with quality Caltex gasoline at a discounted price not only allows them to save money, but also ensures that their vehicles - which are their main source of livelihood - are well-maintained,” Grab Philippines country head Brian Cu says.

The Caltex brand was recently reformulated with the new Clean & Glide technology, which offers a smoother motoring experience through optimized engine protection, fuel economy and maximized power with continued use. Caltex fuel, including Platinum and Silver with Techron, are Euro 4-compliant and deliver lesser emissions.
