Jeron Teng dished out a rare triple double as unbeaten Flying V crushed AMA Online Education, 114-91, to clinch an outright semifinal berth in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig last night.

Teng fired 14 of his 21 points in the second half as the Thunder turned a 4345 halftime deficit into an 84-65 bulge on their way to posting their eighth straight win for a spot in the Final Four.

The former La Salle star also snared 11 rebounds and issued 13 assists to become the fourth player in the league to complete a triple-double after Bobby Ray Parks, Mike Tolomia, and Kent Salado.

“Before this game, I talked to coach Eric (Altamirano). He told me it would be better, since I’m turning pro this year, to add dimensions in my game, in my defense, getting those rebounds and assists. That’s what I did and for me, it’s a continuous learning experience. I just try to get better each day,” said Teng.

He knocked in all of his three triples in the second half as he combined with Eric Salamat, Gab Banal, Thomas Torres, Jerick Cañada and Bacon Austria in draining 16 of their 20 triples in the final 20 minutes to post the lopsided triumph, their eighth straight.

Daniel Salonga posted 20 points, Mario Bonleon came through with 16, Andre Paras had 14 while John Calma added 13 for ousted AMA which joined Gamboa Coffee Mix and Zark’s Burgers at 1-7.

Earlier, Centro Escolar University thwarted Gamboa Coffee Mix, 100-96, to firm up its quarterfinal bid at 5-3.
