At least seven suspected drug pushers and users were killed and six others were arrested in Metro Manila over the past two days.

In Manila, four alleged pushers were killed in separate police operations since Monday night.

Two of the suspects, still unidentified, were killed by police officers along an alley off Callejon Dos street in Barangay 849, Pandacan at around 10 p.m.

Police officers from the Manila Police District (MPD) Station 10 said the suspects resisted arrest and shot at them.

After the police officers left, a man clutching a bolo made a scene and caused residents and reporters covering the sting to scamper in different directions.

Jonnylon Bangcaya, 30, was killed in a sting by the MPD Station 2 in Parola Compound, Tondo at around 11:30 p.m., said Police Officer 3 Dennis Turla, homicide investigator.

At around 2:45 a.m. yesterday, another team from Station 2 shot dead Rogelio Mangsat in his house on Lakandula street in Tondo.

Turla said several firearms and sachets of shabu were recovered during the operations.

Attacked

Three persons, all with reported drug links, were killed by unidentified assailants since Monday.

In Pasig, drug surrenderees Ricardo Solis, 47, a jeepney barker; and Karim Mangamba, alias Sam, 37, were killed by four assailants on two motorcycles without license plates.

Investigators said Mangamba was walking along Caliwag street in Barangay Pinagbuhatan when the assailants arrived at around 6 p.m. Monday. The back riders on the two motorcycles shot Mangamba.

Witness Dennis Madera said the assailants proceeded to a nearby store and shot Solis, who was buying a cigarette.

After making sure Solis was dead, the assailants fled toward the Pasig public market.

Mangamba died while being rushed to a hospital.

Both Solis and Mangamba surrendered to local authorities at the height of Oplan Tokhang last year, said Chief Superintendent Romulo Sapitula, Eastern Police District director.

Sapitula directed Senior Superintendent Orlando Yebra Jr., Pasig City police chief, to determine whether the two men returned to selling illegal drugs.

“We should establish the true motive behind the killing of Solis and Mangamba as their enemies might be behind their deaths,” Sapitula said in his directive.

In Marikina City, Erwin Boado, 36, was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding assailants as he was walking along Armscor Avenue in Barangay Fortune at around 7:20 p.m. Monday.

Boado’s name is in the barangay drug watchlist, Sapitula said.

Caught in the act

Mark Anthony Guibone, 18, was caught with two sachets of shabu on his person when anti-narcotics police officers frisked him along Anonas Road in Barangay Potrero, Malabon at around 9 a.m. Monday.

Remie Fernando, 40; Glenda Silvestre, 48; and Emmanuel Santos, 32, were caught using drugs in a hose on Sanciangco street in Barangay Catmon, also in Malabon, at past 2 p.m. Monday.

Police officers recovered two sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia from the suspects.

Shortly before midnight Monday, Raymond dela Cruz, 21, was arrested for carrying two sachets of shabu in Gozon Compound, Barangay Tonsuya, also in Malabon.

In Quezon City, Alvin Panganiban, 36, was arrested in front of a supermarket in Barangay Sta. Monica at around 5 p.m. when he refused to have his bag inspected by the supermarket’s security guard.

Police officers on routine patrol spotted him running away and gave chase. They found four sachets of shabu and a digital weighing sale in his bag.
