The League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) is a network of over 80 of the largest operating and grant-making corporate foundations and corporations in the Philippines. The League has continued to be at the forefront of promoting and enhancing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practice among its members and the larger business community since its formation in 1991.

The LCF was officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on August 26, 1996. In 2016, the LCF celebrated its 20th year as a network in leading the business sectors’ expanding interest in corporate philanthropy, CSR, and commitment to nation building. In the two-decade, social development work of LCF among the significant events were as follows:

In 1997, LCF was one of the six largest networks of NGOs in the Philippines that organized the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC), a private, voluntary, non-stock, non-profit corporation whose main function is to certify non-profit organizations that meet established minimum criteria for financial management and accountability in the service of underprivileged Filipinos.

In 2001, in response to a Presidential Proclamation declaring the first week of July as National CSR Week, the LCF, having been designated as the overall coordinating body to oversee the activities of the CSR week, started celebrating its annual CSR Expo and Conference.

In 2003, recognizing the call for integration of CSR into the core business operations of companies, LCF amended its by-laws to accept as members the corporations that are interested in improving their CSR practice.

In 2006, LCF influenced the core of the Business Administration education program of the country to include three units of Social Responsibility and Good Governance as a subject.

In 2007, established the Corporate Social Responsibility Institute (CSRI) to function as the research and capacity-building arm of LCF. With the aim of professionalizing the practice of CSR in the Philippines, the CSRI conducts research studies, publications, workshops and forums.

In 2010, the LCF became one of the founding members of the ASEAN CSR Network, an association of organizations advocating for CSR in Southeast Asia. The other founding member organizations include ASEAN Foundation, Indonesia Business Links, International Chamber of Commerce-Malaysia, Singapore Compact for CSR, and The CSR Club of the Thai Listed Company Association. From 2011 - 2013, LCF chaired ACN and to date, continues to be a member of its Board of Trustees. The League serves as its members’ arena for exchanging ideas, information, experience, and technology as well as other concerns relevant to its goals. LCF is organized into committees, representing the major areas of involvement of the entire membership, which over the years have engaged and nurtured employee participation through joint undertakings that promote social development. The seven committees are composed of Arts and Culture, Education, Enterprise Development, Environment, and Health committees while operation-based committees are the Membership and Communications that provide opportunities for peer learning, collaboration, and partnership among LCF members.
