Buhay OFW marks 7th year with Project ATOM

-

Buhay OFW, a multi-awarded public service show, is airing every Saturday, 9 to 10 p.m. on Aksyon TV. It also airs in 10 countries via Aksyon TV International.

As the show celebrates its seventh anniversary, it launched the project Anti Trafficking OFW Movement (ATOM) last July 18 at Golden Bay Restaurant through the initiative of the host and founder, Marissa del Mar. Culminating event will be at Diamond Hotel, Manila Grand Ballroom on Oct. 23.

ATOM is a step towards remedying the statistics of over 10 million Filipino men, women and children subjected to sex trafficking and forced labor worldwide. Our OFW, in dire need to provide a better future for themselves and their families, constitute a large percentage of those already exploited or at risk of being exploited. The campaign recognizes the contribution of the OFW not only in the Philippine economic development but also in the promotion of safety among their fellow migrants.

Through the combined efforts of Buhay OFW Foundation, Inc., San Miguel Corp., National Real Estate Association (NREA), Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC), Management Association of the Philippines (MAP), Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Philippine Chinese Charitable Association, Inc. (PCCAI), Philippine Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc., (PCCCII), Filipino-Indian Commerce and Welfare Society (FICWS), Seagull Philippines, Inc., Lilac Research, Inc., ZONTA Club of Makati Central Business District and Rotary Club of BagumbayanManila, these facts become the foundation on which change begins.
