5 suspects, 3 others shot dead
Two drug suspects, two alleged motorcycle thieves and a suspected cattle rustler were killed in separate incidents on Thursday.
Ariel Pascual allegedly resisted arrest and fired at antidrug operatives in Barangay Coral na Bato, San Rafael. Police said they recovered six sachets of shabu, a caliber .22 revolver and a Kawasaki Bajaj tricycle from the fatality.
Suspected drug pusher Allan Oloroso was tending his store in Barangay Sto. Niño in Plaridel, Bulacan when motorcycle-riding men opened fire.
In Isabela, an unidentified man accused of stealing the cow of Leonardo Ricardo, chairman of Barangay Loria in Angadanan town, allegedly pulled out his gun and shot policemen who tried to arrest him at around 8:30 p.m.
John Lester Miranda, 25, and Jester Roeldan, 28, reportedly engaged responding policemen in a shootout after two men reported that the suspects took their motorcycles along Del Corro street in Barangay San Lorenzo, Gapan at about 3:45 p.m.
Meanwhile, police are still investigating the motives for shooting incidents that left three persons dead in Luzon in the past two days.
Bonifacio Tolentino, 72, a retired market inspector, was shot while jogging with his wife near a public market in Barangay San Lucas, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur yesterday. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Magsingal District Hospital. His wife was unhurt.
Sandy Marasigan, 56, and tricycle driver Belister Dublin were shot in Barangay Nakalaya, Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte and Tuburan, Cawayan, Masbate, respectively, on Thursday.
