Three suspected drug personalities were killed in alleged shootouts with police officers in Luzon over the weekend.

Meanwhile, in the Visayas, five members of a family and a late governor’s son were arrested in separate drug raids in Cebu on Saturday.

Michael Librea reportedly pulled out a gun and fired at the police officers following a sting in Norzagaray, Bulacan yesterday.

The undercover agents retaliated, killing Librea at the scene, according to Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat Jr., acting Bulacan police director.

Police said they recovered a gun and a plastic sachet said to contain shabu from Librea.

In Cagayan, Lito Quintua and a man identified as “Jong” were killed when they allegedly traded shots with police officers in the towns of Lal-lo and Gattaran, respectively, on Saturday.

Police said they recovered five plastic sachets said to contain shabu from Quintua and two from Jong.

In Cebu, Danilo Eriguero, 55, government employee; his wife Thelma, 52, and their relatives – Jerome, 29; Johnivan, 22, and John Lester, 24, all surnamed Eriguero – were arrested for alleged possession of at least P700,000worth of shabu in Barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town on Saturday.

Danilo was reportedly on the drug list of the police, according to Senior Inspector Reslyn Abella, spokesperson for the Central Visayas police.

The raiding team rescued 11 minors who were allegedly working as drug couriers for the Eriguero family.

Abella said authorities seized several plastic sachets said to contain 60 grams of shabu worth P708,000 and a revolver from the suspects.

On the same day, authorities arrested Leodegreco Sanchez for illegal possession of firearms and drug paraphernalia in nearby Tuburan town.

Sanchez, 34, son of the late Cebu vice governor Gregorio Sanchez Jr., was collared at around 8 a.m. at his home in Barangay San Juan.

The suspect reportedly yielded a .45 caliber pistol, a shotgun, ammunition, five gun replicas, an airsoft rifle and drug paraphernalia.

Aside from Sanchez, police also arrested his companions Jolbert Jacaba, 40; Glen Nacion, 30, and Maricel Gregory, 34.
