H&M Philippines to continue expansion

-

Amidst a thriving local retail landscape, H&M Philippines announced plans for continuous growth and expansion in the country, with three stores opening in key locations in the Metro over the second half of 2017. This adds to the already 26-strong roster of the brand in local shores, both within and outside the capital.

H&M Philippines will have its much anticipated opening in SM Mall of Asia on Aug. 4, followed by Greenbelt 4 and Robinsons Galleria which are expected to open during the latter part of the year. These and other locations in the pipeline will round out the nine stores H&M plans to close the financial year with in total.

H&M Philippines ended last year with 21 stores, growing from 15 stores the previous year.

According to H&M Philippines head of communications and press, Dan Mejia, “We continue our strong expansion in the country, creating new jobs. As of May, we have over 700 colleagues working in the stores, distribution center, and the support office. We are truly happy that our customers continue to patronize our business offer– fashion and quality at the best price in sustainable way. We have been well received since we opened our first store in 2014, and we aim to grow in a controlled manner, with quality, sustainability, and continued high profitability in mind.”

H&M’s expansion in the local market also rides the momentum of the global H&M group’s significant gains in 2016. In the previous year’s financial report, global H&M also announced that aside from introducing an exciting concept within its stores, it also plans to launch its online business in the Philippines later this year.

Given the growing shift to an online market, H&M’s well developed online business model integrates the digital and physical world to offer customers a more seamless shopping experience. “We confirm the launch of Shop Online in 2017 – we look forward to share more information with you at a later stage,” Mejia said.
