Bimby no-show at MJ’s party
Until the early evening last Saturday, Aug. 12, not even a shadow of Bimby Aquino-Yap appeared at the Blue Leaf Filipinas (beside City of Dreams) where his half-brother Michael James (MJ) was given a party celebrating his first birthday by his parents, James Yap and Michela “Mic” Cazzola.
Asked if Bimby (and his brother Joshua) were invited, James told Funfare, “I’m sure invited sila. It was Mic who arranged everything” — that is, from the guest list to checking that every detail was in place at the venue made up like a jungle. The events organizer said that Bimby “confirmed” that he was attending.
MJ’s actual birthday was Aug. 8 which James and Mic usually celebrate quietly at home, recording every eighth of the month for posterity.
The kiddie wellwishers came dressed to the nines, many of them in animal costumes. During the photo shoots, Mic would call the attention of the distracted MJ by waving a stuffed (lion) toy.
Asked what he wished for MJ, James said, “Good health. We are raising him to be God-fearing.” Then addressing MJ, “I’m just here for you.”
How soon do they plan to have another child?
“It’s up to Mic,” James blushed. “Mapagbigay naman ako, eh!” Mic’s wish for MJ? “Happines. We want him to be a happy child.”
