China firm eyes world-class theme park in Phl
China’s major developer Landing International Development Ltd. will build a multi-billion dollar integrated resort in the Philippines.
Yang Zhihui, chairman and executive director of Landing International, recently met with President Duterte where they discussed the proposed five-year development program that includes reclaiming 147 hectares of Manila Bay.
The Philippines - a popular holiday destination for Chinese visitors, is being positioned as a main tourism resort with luxury hotels, a shopping center, theme park, villas and flats, as well as gaming and other leisure and entertainment facilities. Yang said the multi-billion dollar venture is a three-phase project that is expected to generate jobs to thousands of Filipinos.
“Following our first meeting with the President in May 2017 in Hong Kong to discuss investment opportunities in the Philippines, we are pleased to share with President Duterte our vision for tourism in the country and our proposal to build an iconic branded theme park integrated resort on the Philippines that all Filipinos will be very proud of,” Yang said in a statement.
He said the resort would comprise Asia’s first movie-themed indoor park and waterpark as well as many other leisure and entertainment facilities suited for all ages and families.
Yang also assured that when opened, the theme park would enhance Philippines’ tourism appeal, complement the existing tourist attractions and resorts as well as create significant employment opportunities for the locals as well as returning Filipinos who are currently working overseas.
Landing International is currently developing the first and largest iconic entertainment destination resort, the Jeju Shinhwa World, in Jeju, South Korea.
The 2.5 million-square meter leisure park in Jeju, will be the first premium integrated destination resort in that country.
Landing International also owns Les Ambassadeurs Club, a leading premium gaming club in London, UK, with 45 gaming tables a several features VIP rooms and the largest outdoor gambling zone in London.
