6 drug suspects fall

Six drug suspects, including a high-value target included in President Duterte’s drug list, were arrested in separate operations in Metro Manila over the weekend.

In Pasig City, Jerome Garcia, alias Jericho Cruz, was apprehende­d by police on charges of drugs, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, illegal use of police uniform as well as car theft.

Garcia was the leader of a crime ring operating in eastern Metro Manila and Antipolo City, Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Superinten­dent Romulo Sapitula said.

Garcia was the No. 9 priority target of President Duterte and the National Capital Region Police Office in the drug war.

Garcia was also among the most wanted persons of the EPD.

In Quezon City, five drug suspects were collared while 30 sachets of marijuana were turned over to police.

The packs of marijuana, worth around P5,000 to P10,000, were turned over to authoritie­s by officials of Barangay Payatas on Saturday.

In Barangay Holy Spirit, anti-narcotics operatives arrested Michael Verano, 39, and Dante Navarro, 54, during a drug sting, Superinten­dent Rossel Cejas, head of the Batasan police, said.

Verano and Navarro allegedly yielded three packets of shabu, an improvised gun and P200 in marked money.

Mae Pearl Mabulay, 25, and Zenaida Perez, 45, were arrested in an alleged pot session at a house along Sto. Domingo street.

Another drug suspect, Timotheo Cruz, 22, was nabbed for alleged shabu possesion along Victory Avenue in Barangay Tatalon. –
