Brothers kill each other
CAMP VICENTE LIM – Two brothers died after they reportedly stabbed each other during a quarrel in Calauan, Laguna on Saturday night.
Leonardo Lozano, 47, and his brother Ernesto, 64, were declared dead on arrival at the PPL Bay Hospital.
The Lozanos were reportedly having a drinking session with their friends at their home in Barangay Sto. Tomas when a quarrel broke out between them, according to Chief Inspector Gerard Hernandez, Calauan police chief.
Probers said the brothers could have harbored grudges against each other. – Ed Amoroso
Cavite bettor wins P6-M lotto pot
A bettor from Bacoor, Cavite won the jackpot in the 6/42 Regular Lotto draw on Saturday, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced yesterday.
The still unidentified winner picked the six-digit winning combination 10-41-21-11-29-37.
The winning ticket was bought from a lotto outlet in Paliparan, Bacoor.
Fifteen other players won P25,000 each after picking five of the six-digit winning combination, according to PCSO general manager Alexander Balutan.

Drug suspect shot dead
TUGUEGARAO – A suspected drug trafficker and contract killer was killed in an alleged shootout with law enforcers out to serve a warrant for his arrest in Alcala, Cagayan on Saturday.
Marlo Ligsay, 42, reportedly tried to escape and shot at a team of police officers and Army soldiers who caught up with him in Barangay Carallangan, according to Cagayan police director Senior Superintendent Warren Tolito.
Reports said Ligsay was on the drug list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and ranked first on the list of most wanted men in the region.
Police said they recovered a revolver and a grenade from the slain suspect, who was reportedly a member of a group tagged in the killing of a judge and a mayor in 2010 and 2011, respectively. – Raymund Catindig
