St. Luke’s opens residency programs
St. Luke’s Medical Center, the only hospital in the Philippines to be accredited as an academic medical center by Joint Commission International (JCI), is looking for dynamic and ambitious doctors who want to be a part of its residency training program. The qualifying examination is scheduled on Sept. 27, at Auditorium 1 14/F, Cathedral Heights Building Complex, St. Luke’s Medical Center-Quezon City.
Exams from 9 a.m. to 12 noon are for emergency medicine, internal medicine, neurology, nuclear medicine, pediatrics, pathology and radiology, while the 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. slot covers anesthesiology, ears, nose, throat – head and neck surgery (ENT-HNS), general surgery, neurosurgery, obstetrics & gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and urology. Applicants are requested to submit the following requirements in hard and soft copies (in CD or flash drive) at the Medical Education Office of St. Luke’s Medical Center-Quezon City until Sept. 22: 2x2 and 1x1 pictures (1 each); curriculum vitae which includes schools attended, hobbies and interests; certificate from the dean/ registrar which includes class rank and general weighted average (GWA); letter of recommendation from the dean/registrar which includes good standing or certificate of good conduct/ good moral character; letter of recommendation from two medical faculty from the same specialty being applied for (for those subjects that are not regularly offered in medical school such as anesthesiology, dermatology, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology, neurosur- gery and urology letter from any medical consultant will do); certified true copy of transcript of records; medical school diploma; certificate of internship; Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) license; PRC Board Rating result; Certificate of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) optional.
Applicants must submit a scanned copy of all the requirements including the application form.
Deadline for submission of applications to the dermatology residency training program will be on Sept. 21, and the exam will be on Sept. 23, 20. There will be additional requirements requested for applicants in dermatology and ophthalmology.
Application fee is P1,000. Incomplete papers will not be processed.
