October 6 isn’t a holiday, but it’s a day of celebration for beauty addicts: it’s the day for toasting with champagne as Tom Ford Beauty arrives in Rustan’s Makati.
“My desire is to create the first true luxury brand of the 21 st century ,” says designer Tom Ford, president and CEO of Tom Ford International, who created Tom Ford Beauty under his vision of modern glamor and crafted the range with the ultimate in quality and luxury. His goal: for women to reveal their most “glamorous and inspirational self” and amplify their individuality with maximum impact.
Tom Ford created his own fashion label in 2004, after his stint as creative director of Gucci. His take on beauty abides by his design rules — sexy and mysterious, tailored but fitted, and with an attention to luxury that trickles down to the little details. His most recent muses, seen on the front row of his SS18 show, are iconic: Chaka Khan, Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen, and Julianne Moore.
He started in 2006 with Tom Ford Black Orchid, a sensual fragrance of rich, dark accords, followed by the Tom Ford Private Blend collection, which included 12 unisex scents, in 2007, and finally the Tom Ford Beauty color collection in 2011.
Among Tom Ford Beauty’s most iconic products are the Black Orchid and Neroli Portofino scents, and the Lip Color in Cherry Lush, an ultra-creamy lipstick with exotic ingredients such as soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter, and chamomilla flower oil, in a wearable, modern red.
