The 6th Philippine Harvest meets Bon Appetit at Central Square
The 6th Philippine Harvest at Central Square is ongoing until today at Central Square, Bonifacio High Street Central in Taguig City. This time around, the Department of Agriculture (DA) and Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) have partnered with the French Embassy in Manila for this one-of-a-kind gastronomic market and festival that offers the best of both Filipino and French food.
“It will be a showcase of quality fresh and processed agricultural products from the Philippines, side by side with the best of France,” says DA Secretary Emmanuel Piñol.
“We at SSI are proud to partner with the Department of Agriculture and the Embassy of the Republic of France to promote the best of what the Philippines and France have to offer,” adds Anthony Huang, president of SSI Group Inc. “This is yet another way of enriching the lives of our customers — by offering them the opportunity to experience and appreciate the different varieties of Philippine and French food products, as well as meet the men and women behind them.”
The DA has assembled 24 exhibitors to highlight the richness and diversity of the country’s organic, artisanal, natural, and indigenous agricultural products, including heirloom and organic colored rice from the Cordilleras; artisanal chocolates from Davao; cheese from Negros Occidental and Davao; fresh vegetables and fruits from Mindanao (Bukidnon and Davao) and Rizal; and coffee produced by the Tausug farmers from Sulu.
The French side will sell their cheese, wines, dairy and meat products, pastries, and other foodstuff to highlight their proud gastronomic and culinary tradition.
Philippine Harvest Meets Bon Appétit is spearheaded by the office of the Undersecretary for Agribusiness and Marketing and Regional Engagement led by Undersecretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat, in collaboration with Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI), Central Square, and the Embassy of France in Manila.
The Philippine Harvest Meets Bon Appétit is open to the public during mall hours at the lower ground and upper ground floors of Central Square, BGC.
