Since its foundation in 2008, the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (GPCCI) has grown quickly to be a respectable organization in the center of the German–Philippine business community. With close to 300 members, which continues to grow continuously, and a professional and dedicated team, GPCCI is the choice organization to represent German businesses entering the Philippine market. Trade PromoTion

GPCCI became an official member of the network of German Chambers Abroad (Auslandhandelskammern or AHKs) in 2015, widening its range of services to offer businesses in both countries. The Chamber has been a driving force in promoting bilateral trade in both countries and is fervent in its support for German companies who are interested in investing in the Philippines.

The Chamber, under the global trademark “DEinternational,” offers market-entry support, event management, career and HR services, office-in-office, export programs, trade fair services, and more customized services. membershiP

With the increase in membership, the range of services has also grown to address the needs of its members. The Chamber’s membership roster consists of companies from different industries and reflects the diversity and scope of GPCCI’s network.

To address the needs and concerns of the members, GPCCI organizes relevant and informative events such as the Economic Forums, Business Roundtable and Joint Economic Briefings that encourage exchange among its members and business community. Networking events are also a part of the programs of GPCCI in order to get the members together. Such events are the Feierabend, Speed Networking Night, Summer Networking Night and the German Ambassador’s Cup, which has in attendance guests from Manila’s business and diplomatic community. GPCCI also organizes the biggest German-Philippine event in the country, Mabuhay Germany, which showcases German business, food, and culture. dual Training

Since 2013, GPCCI supports the Dual Vocational Education and Training (VET) approach in the Philippines. Dual VET, modelled after the German vocational training system, happens in two places: the school and the company. In close cooperation with the private sector, Dual VET aims to identify and develop market-relevant skills to prepare young Filipino workers for tomorrow’s employment needs while improving Philippinebased companies’ competitiveness globally. Through its member network, GPCCI has first-hand information on technological developments in the market and their corresponding skills needs. Fields oF ComPeTenCy

The six Fields of Competency, namely Connecting Businesses, Trade Policy, Business and Society, Education and Training, Maritime and Logistics, and Energy and Environment, aid the Chamber in upholding its advocacies.

Furthermore, GPCCI has formed committees to tackle relevant issues in major industries, publish comprehensive studies that emphasize their importance, and provide a platform wherein GPCCI members and key players of the industry can engage in a dialogue that results in better cooperation for all involved. Germany still remains to be the Philippines’ biggest economic partner in the European Union. Despite the slight dip in investments last year, the country continues to be an attractive market as reflected in the increase in membership and in the services availed from the Chamber. GPCCI is glad to be part of the strengthening relationship of Germany and the Philippines!
