Celebrating two-wheels at the Shell Bike Fair 2017

-

ARE two wheels better than four? With traffic congestion in Metro Manila and scenic views all over the country, motorcycles provide a great alternative for mobility in the Philippines. The appeal of motorcycles is evident in the continued annual increase of motorcycle riders in the Philippines. Metro Manila has 860,517 registered bikers, making it the Philippines’ largest motorcycle community (according to the Industry Government Online).

To celebrate Filipinos’ passion for riding, Shell Bike Fair 2017 launched a series of exciting events across the country.

Last week, Shell Bike Fair 2017 concluded in Manila with grand festivities at the World Trade Center. Highlights included performances by Soupstar Band, Northdrive, Skylight, Imago, Go Girls, Imago and Parokya ni Edgar, and appearances by celebrities Max Collins, Jackie Rice, Andrea Torres, Roxanne Barcelo, Sam Pinto, and Bella Padilla. Several motorcycle clubs received special prizes and three lucky winners brought home brand new bikes: a Yamaha Aerox, Suzuki Raider, and Honda CBR 150.

On top of the activities, Shell Bike Fair 2017 brought together two brands that are bikers’ reliable companions on the road: Shell Advance Motor Oils and Shell V-Power.

Shell Advance Motor Oils allow for smoother rides by protecting the engine from wear and maintaining clean pistons. These Motor Oils equip riders for different challenges—be it rough terrains and pollution, traffic and harsh weather conditions. Shell Advance’s PurePlus/Active Cleansing Technology’s formulation provides the benefits of horsepower, superior wear, high temperature protection, piston cleaning, and better fuel economy.

Shell’s lubricants go hand-inhand with their most advanced Shell V-Power fuels, now with DYNAFLEX Technology. Shell V-Power Gasoline has a new formulation that targets dirt and helps remove up to 80 percent of performance robbing deposits on key fuel system components.

For Pilipinas Shell, their role goes beyond providing fuel.

“For over 100 years, Pilipinas Shell’s products and services have evolved to meet the current needs of Filipino motorists. We want our customers to know that Shell is every Pinoy motorists‘ partner as they face challenges on the road. Shell has evolved into more than just a gas station; it is a pit stop that fuels both you and your motorcycles,” said Anthony Lawrence Yam, Pilipinas Shell vice president for Retail.

Supporting motorcycles and the biking community is only one of the ways in which Shell strives to be at the forefront of smart mobility. Their advocacy for energy efficiency has inspired programs for motorists that promote driver education and smarter use of energy.
