2 soldiers killed in Marawi
LANAO DEL SUR – Two more soldiers were reportedly killed while several others were wounded in the firefight with Maute militants in Marawi yesterday.
Lt. Col. Ramon Flores of the Army’s 63rd Infantry Battalion and personnel of the Light Reaction Unit were among those wounded, according to military and police sources.
Lt. Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr., Western Mindanao Command chief, who is overseeing the military operations in Marawi, could not be reached for confirmation of the casualties.
Soldiers have been trying to clear an area near Lake Lanao since Friday.
