National ‘Bakbakan’ underway

The 2017 FIGBA National ‘Bakbakan’ 12–Stag Derby, backed up by 6,000 gamefowl breeders nationwide, started Oct. 10 at Candon Coliseum in Ilocos Sur.

Organized by International Federation of Gamefowl Breeders (FIGBA), ‘Bakbakan’ offers a princely prize of P75 million this year, the biggest in its 17-year history.

FIGBA president Ricoy Palmares Jr. reminds participants to get ready for the upcoming 3-stag elims in the provinces.

The schedules this month: Oct. 19 (UNIGBA), Oct. 23 (GBAP), Oct, 25 (BBC, MMGBA and GBONE), Oct. 27 (GBAP, BBC and LAGBA), Oct. 28 (CVGBA, BBC, UMIGBA, CVBA and ZGBA), Oct. 29 (BIGBA), Oct 30 (UCBA and MIGBA) and Oct 31 (CGBA).

Major sponsors are Thunderbird The Winning Formula and B-MEG Integra Power together with Excellence Poultry and Livestock Specialists, LDI, Hagibis, Salto, Vitarich Titan, Vio-Plus, Pit Fighter and Mad Science.

Grand finals will be held Dec. 14 and 16 at Roligon Mega Cockpit.
