Ford posts record Sept, Q3 sales

- By RICHMOND MERCURIO

Ford Philippines posted a record September performance, with sales rising 19 percent year-on-year to 3,154 units fueled by the continued strong demand for the Everest, EcoSport and Ranger models.

The local unit of American carmaker Ford Motor Co. said the record month capped its best-ever quarter in the Philippines, selling 9,293 units from July to September or an increase of 12 percent from the same period last year.

“The Everest, EcoSport and Ranger continue to drive our sales momentum,” Ford Philippines managing director Bertrand Lessard said.

“We’ve been running some very attractive nationwide campaigns, and with the impending excise tax changes, we expect our Ford showrooms to continue to be busy through yearend. We’re thankful that more and more customers are choosing Ford for their vehicles,” Lessard said.

The Everest SUV remained Ford’s best-selling vehicle in the country with September sales increasing 37 percent to 1,151 units from a year ago, helping drive its total year-todate sales to 8,948 units.
