FWD Life CEO among ‘Outstanding Leaders in Asia’
FWD Life Insurance Philippines president and chief executive officer Peter Grimes was lauded as an “Outstanding Leader in Asia” by the Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability (ACES) Awards. At the awarding ceremonies held on Oct. 26 at InterContinental Hotel, Singapore, Peter received the honor alongside five other CEOs from across Asia. He was given the award for demonstrating sound leadership and successfully applying it to spearhead growth and prominence for FWD.

According to the official awards program, the “Outstanding Leaders in Asia” are honored for exhibiting the ideal blend of business acumen, professionalism, entrepreneurial caliber, and astuteness.
Peter, who joined from the pan-Asian insurer’s Group Office to be charged with the Philippines’ start-up operations in 2014, has led the company to exceptional growth to become one of the country’s fastest-growing insurance companies – rising from a market ranking of No. 29 in 2014 to No. 12 by end-2016, based on total premium income. The company’s growth story is attributed to FWD’s focus on leveraging technology, product innovation, and creating an outstanding customer experience, alongside its clear vision to change the way people feel about insurance.
His leadership has also been instrumental in the innovative culture of the business. In 2016, FWD launched Peace Plan, the first-of-its-kind insurance plan which offers guaranteed financial protection against acts of terrorism anywhere in the world. FWD’s Peace Plan was recognized at the 2nd Asian Banking & Finance (ABF) Insurance Asia Awards as New Insurance Product of the Year – Philippines. For two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017, FWD Philippines was also awarded as one of “Asia’s Best Employer Brands” by the Employer Branding Institute.
