Cloudy skies and scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected in the country as the northeast monsoon is affecting Northern and Central Luzon while the tail-end of a cold front is affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The state weather bureau added that the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) is affecting Southern Mindanao.

“Due to the tail-end of a cold front, Aurora, Mindoro, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, and Bicol will have cloudy skies with scattered rain-showers and thunderstorms,” the PAGASA bulletin noted.

Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao, Northern Mindanao, Cotabato, Sarangani, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA.

Metro Manila and the regions of Cordillera, Ilocos, Cagayan Valley and the rest of Central Luzon will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains because of the northeast monsoon.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain-showers as a result of localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA also noted that coastal waters in Luzon and Eastern Visayas will be moderate to rough, while it will be slight to moderate in the rest of the Visayas and Mindanao.
