B’gay chairman, 2 others shot dead

A barangay captain and two other persons were shot dead in Sorsogon, Bulacan and Ilocos Sur on Friday.

The killing of Oscar Jetomo, chairman of Barangay Marinas in Sorsogon City, occurred at about 8:45 p.m.

A certain Jerome allegedly shot it out with law enforcers in Barangay Sto. Cristo, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.

Jerome reportedly fired at police operatives who responded to a report that a gunman was seen in the area.

Police said a .38-caliber revolver with four bullets and a coin purse containing six sachets of shabu were recovered from the fatality.

In Ilocos Sur, Danilo Osalvo was driving his motorcycle on his way home to Barangay Cabaroan Daya, Vigan when he was shot at about 4 p.m.

Osalvo’s companion Allan Fabilliara­n was wounded and taken to a hospital for treatment.

In Bataan, an unidentifi­ed girl believed to be between 15 to 18 years old was found dead at the Petrochem compound in Barangay Batangas II, Mariveles, Bataan on Thursday.

Police have yet to determine the motives for the killings.

Village chief nabbed for drugs

Meanwhile, in Cagayan, Edmundo Uclos, 50, chairman of Barangay Mabuttal West, Ballestero­s, Cagayan, and his brother Arnulfo, 53, were arrested after raids on their houses on Wednesday reportedly yielded sachets of shabu and drug parapherna­lia.

The siblings are said to be members of a drug ring operating in the province.
