Guide to will writing, trusts and inheritance

-

The Center for Global Best Practices will run a one-day seminar titled, "Families’ Guide to Wills, Trusts & Inheritance: Will-Writing, Trust-Making and Inheritance-Giving the Right Way," on Dec. 7 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City.

The fear of many grandparents, parents and families who worked so hard for their wealth is for it to be wasted or end up in the hands of bad relatives and outside predators in case of their death or incapacity. When you want to spare your loved ones of the burden of dividing and even quarrelling over your estate, or the pain of having to pay for the unnecessary legal costs and taxes, one should write a will or create a living trust. It is the right thing to do. When you don’t have one, you run the risk of your assets going to waste. Others attempt to write a will without proper guidance. But writing a defective will is as good as having no will. In many instances, this becomes a subject of long, painful litigation.

To help on this legacy making initiative, this seminar will provide practical guide on will-writing the right way and creating living trusts that addresses properly the many issues including: a) the care of minor children or parents and other loved ones after one’s death; b) care in case of incapacity; c) guardianships; d) administration of estate, and many more.

This unique seminar will feature an expert in estate planning and asset protection law – Atty. Nicasio Cabaneiro, CPA. He is the partner in-charge of tax programs at the Center for Global Best Practices. He is a sought-after lecturer and estate planning consultant of high net worth families and individuals to help them with their tax and other legal matters. He is an authority in the practice of taxation and commercial law with over 40 years of teaching experience and 25 years with Bank of Philippine Islands, capping his career as its vicepresident and head of the Legal Services Division. He finished his accounting degree (magna cum laude) and his law degree (cum laude) at the San Beda College of Law.

Families, estate planners, and those interested in this topic are encouraged to avail of the early payment savings and group discount for three or more participants. Seats are limited and preregistration is required.
