PSBank renews commitment for children’s welfare

-

PSBank strengthened its commitment for the welfare of indigent, visually impaired and special children through the turnover of its annual donations.

Across three events the bank gave a total of P300,000 to its three corporate social responsibility (CSR) partners – World Vision, Resources for the Blind Inc. (RBI) and Chosen Children Village Foundation Inc. – geared toward educating, nurturing and protecting underprivileged children.

The bank presented the donation to World Vision Development Foundation (WVDF) during WVDF’s Corporate Partners Night last Nov. 23. This is to assist in the organization’s activities centered on child welfare, education and disaster relief.

Last Dec. 11, PSBank employees through PSBank HRG -Employee Engagement, donated new clothes to children with special needs at Chosen Children Village Foundation, Inc. (CCVFI) in Silang, Cavite. CCVFI provides for the daily sustenance, special education and therapy of special children. To date, the facility houses 80 children.

“We accept infants as young as one month old but our oldest is 21 years old. Some are fortunate enough to have adoptive families but most stay with us until they grow old. This is why we need all the help we can get to provide for them, just like what PSBank does,” said CCVFI finance director Neth Maraan.

The PSBank Glee Club held a benefit concert last Dec. 5 for the visually-impaired children of Resources for the Blind Inc. (RBI). Proceeds were used to buy gifts for the children which were given alongside the donation on Dec. 12. The Glee Club also serenaded the kids on the gift-giving day.

RBI has been advocating the education and integration of visually impaired children to society. They are taught Braille and values education in their preschool to help them transition to formal schooling. The organization also does counseling, rehabilitation and training and is actively involved in preventing blindness and restoring sight, whenever possible.

“We are touched by the efforts made by PSBank Glee Club. Thank you for taking the time and for celebrating Christmas with our preschool kids. Your presence made it more meaningful. Likewise, thank you for PSBank’s help. Our projects for the children won’t be possible without the Bank,” said RBI public relations officer Gloria Mendoza.

“We are inspired by the hard work and dedication of these selfless organizations. Let us keep on playing an active and positive role in the lives of these children. We hope this partnership will go a long way and continue to do great things,” said PSBank president Vicente Cuna Jr.
