Four men, all armed with pistols, robbed an eatery in Parañaque City before dawn yesterday.

The robbers, all wearing helmets and long-sleeved shirts, barged into the Goto Bar along Dasa street in Barangay San Isidro at around 2:30 a.m. They took P15,000 from the eatery’s owner, Marilyn Vizarra, 28, who was at the counter at the time, and gadgets worth P11,000.

They shot Aniceto Manalo, 32, apparently thinking he was about to put up a fight, police said. They took his cell phone and P6,500 cash before speeding away on two motorcycles.

Manalo is being treated at the Las Piñas General Hospital for a gunshot wound in his left hip.

Investigators are reviewing closedcircuit television footage of the incident.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Oscar Albayalde gave city police chief Senior Superintendent Leon Victor Rosete two days to solve the heist.

Albayalde said the incident must be solved even if only a small amount of money was stolen.

He did not say if he will relieve Rosete from his post if he fails to meet the deadline.

“Let’s see. There could be a rotation,” Albayalde said.

He stressed the need for the case to be solved, noting the robbers were armed and a child was nearly hurt during the incident.

Rosete said they have leads on the identities of the robbers, whom he said roam southern Metro Manila and live in the city. –
