2 drug suspects slain; P1-M shabu seized

Two men allegedly involved in illegal drugs were killed in separate shootings in Metro Manila while at least P1 million worth of shabu was confiscate­d on Wednesday.

In Manila, tricycle driver Andres Antoniano, 39, was killed in front of his house along Coral street.

Police said Antoniano was having breakfast when Carlito Beran, 41, arrived and fired at him.

Antoniano was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mary Johnston Hospital from gunshots to the head, case investigat­or Police Officer 2 Jayson Emata said.

Superinten­dent Jay Dimaandal, commander of the Manila Police District Station 1, said they received reports that Antoniano and Beran were allegedly pushing drugs in the area.

Police have launched a manhunt for Beran.

In Caloocan City, a teenager died while his companion was wounded after motorcycle­riding men fired at them.

Angelo Palaypayon, 18, of Barangay Wawa III in Rosario, Cavite, died on the spot.

Johlimar Vargas, 21, of Barangay 178 in Caloocan, was rushed to the Dr. Jose Rodriguez Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Probers said they recovered empty .45-caliber shells at the scene.

Police said they were investigat­ing if the killing was drug-related.

4 fall in stings

In Quezon City, police confiscate­d at least P1 million worth of shabu from two drug suspects on Wednesday.

Bawe Sarip, 27, and Reginaldo Cadag, 33, were arrested in front of a convenienc­e store along Maligaya Drive in Barangay Pasong Putik at around 5 p.m.

Police said they were able to buy P200,000 worth of shabu from the suspects prior to their arrest.

Sarip and Cadag allegedly yielded 26 more sachets of shabu.

Two other drug suspects, Jessmine Eiltas Samson, 19, and Andrew Capili were nabbed during a sting in Bagong Silang, Caloocan.

The suspects allegedly yielded three sachets of shabu and the marked money.
