World Slasher under way tomorrow at Big Dome

Anthony Lim, Frank Berin and the Escolin brothers, co-champs in the 2017 World Slasher Cup 2, banner the home cast that takes on a powerhouse foreign contingent in the WSC 2018 that gets underway tomorrow at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Rep. Patrick Antonio, Boy Marzo, Doc Ayong Lorenzo, Biboy Enriquez, Dicky Lim, James Uy, Paolo Malvar, Eddie Aparri, Art de Castro, Jubee Navarro, Denny Salazar and Joey Sy are among other topnotch Filipino cockers entered in the event featuring two-cock elims tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday.

A tough cast of more than 300 participants vies in this prestigious derby with a three-cock semis set Feb. 1-3, four-cock finals for participants with scores of 2 to 3.5 points on Feb. 4-6 and the grand finale for participants with scores of 4 to 5 points on Feb. 7.

The elims will feature more than 100 fights per day.

Regular WSC participant Ray Alexander of Alabama, Mississippian Lonnie Harper, who is dreaded for his Mule Train greys, and Mike Formosa of California lead the foreign contingent.

Roger Roberts and Larry Whitehead of Georgia, Wilber LeBlanc and Richard Harris of Louisiana, Jorge Goitia, Zaldy Sandoval and Rene Medina of California, Kini Kalawaii and Butch Cambra of Hawaii and Randy Hall of Texas spice up the field.
