Wangs, two others seek DL 2nd win

Wangs Basketball-Letran and Che’Lu Bar and Grill-San Sebastian gun to sustain the momentum of their first victories as they clash in the mainer of a triple bill in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig today.

The Couriers thrashed AMA Online Education, 93-75, behind Bong Quinto while the Revellers leaned on Mike Calisaan to topple University of Perpetual Help, 83-70, for identical 1-0 slates.

Game time is at 5 p.m., with Wangs Basketball-Letran looking to fortify its defense against Che’Lu Bar and Grill-San Sebastian which is still working on its team chemistry.

“We will work on our defense again to reap better results,” said Couriers coach Jeff Napa.

“Hopefully, we’ll play much better, with more chemistry and teamwork. We won because of the players’ individual skills and efforts not in our overall game,” said Revellers coach Stevenson Tiu.

Meanwhile, Marinerong Pilipino looks to recover from a stunning 75-80 loss against Akari-Adamson when it tangles with Centro Escolar University at 3 p.m.

Renzo Subido, Billy Robles, Philip Paredes and Abu Tratter spearhead the Skippers (1-1) against the Rod Ebondo-led Scorpions, who are eyeing a victory in their first outing.

Gamboa Coffee Mix-St Clare (0-1) and Batangas-Emilio Aguinaldo College (0-1) hope to bounce back from their previous setbacks against Go for Gold and Zark’s BurgersLyc­eum, respective­ly, when they collide at 1 p.m.
