Sunpiology Run nets over P5M for charity

Sun Life Financial Philippine­s opened the year by rallying Filipinos towards health and wellness while raising over P5M for charity in its annual fun run, the Sunpiology Resolution Run.

Held last Jan. 20 at the Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City, the event attracted over 3,000 runners, who tackled obstacles designed to raise awareness about diabetes. A limbo rock challenge reminded everyone to keep their health in check, a 100-step challenge gave reminders on how to infuse exercise in one’s daily routine, while a sugar tunnel prompted all to watch their sugar intake.

Sun Life has been championin­g diabetes awareness since 2015, after studies that it commission­ed showed that many Filipinos lacked knowledge about the debilitati­ng disease. In fact, part of the funds raised will go to the Institute for Studies on Diabetes Foundation (ISDFI), which facilitate­s diabetes awareness and prevention initiative­s for Filipinos.

Other beneficiar­ies are Noordhoff Craniofaci­al Foundation, Hebreo Foundation and the Star Magic scholars.

Now on its ninth year, the run was once again co-presented by Star Magic and led by Sun Life brand ambassador Piolo Pascual. His fellow artists such as Matteo Guidicelli, Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo, Kisses Delavin, Edward Barber and Maymay Entrata also joined the event. Other artists were Ashley Colet, Bailey May, Belle Mariano, Chantal Videla, Christian Morones, Claire Ruiz, Franco Rodriguez, Hannah Ledesma, Hannah Lopez Vito, Henz Villaraiz, Jai Agpangan, Jameson Blake, Jessica Marasigan, Joe Vargas, Joj Agpangan, Kyle Velino, Lance Lucido, Loren Burgos, Marco Gallo, Maris Racal, Mark Rivera, Mikee Agustin, Nico Antonio, Nikki Valdez, Iñigo Pascual, Pamu Pamorada, Raine Salamante, Ria Atayde, Sam Shoaf, Sam Thurman, Tommy Esguerra, Vivoree Esclito, Xia Vigor, Yesha Camile, Ysabel Ortega, Zeus Collins and Zonia Mejia.

The Resolution Run was presented by Sun Life Financial Philippine­s in partnershi­p with Brooks, Cherifer, Diabetasol, DMC Marketing Services, Dr. Kong, Fitbar, Gardenia, Green Stevia, Hi-Precision Diagnostic­s, Mega Sardines, RUNNR, Saucony, Stable, Sun Life Grepa Financial, Inc. and TrueTea; supported by Glorious Blend, Nurture Wellness Village, PhilRice and Silka; with media partners Business Mirror,

The event completes Sunpiology Duo, Sun Life’s bike-run event, which commenced last November 2017 with the Sun Life Cycle PH.
