Moderately strong quake jolts Baguio

A magnitude 3.8 quake occurred at around 8:42 a.m. in Baguio, with its epicenter traced seven kilometers southeast of the city.

The tremor was felt at Intensity 4, which is classified as moderately strong.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanolog­y and Seismology (Phivolcs) also recorded a magnitude 2.8 quake in Negros Oriental at about 2:42 a.m.

A tremor with a magnitude of 3.6 occurred at about 2:53 a.m. in Masbate, with its epicenter traced 17 kms southeast of Claveria. It was felt at Intensity 2 in Masbate City.

Phivolcs said no damage or aftershock­s were expected from the quakes.
