RJ Agustin with Star Music

-

Singer, recording artist and actor RJ Agustin (photo) has signed an exclusive contract with Star Music Philippines (formerly Star Records) under ABS-CBN. This year, the record label is starting to manage its own artists.

RJ began singing at a young age but initially pursued acting in films and television because as he claims, “Nasa dugo ko talaga ang pagiging artist.” He is the son of ‘80s director Arturo “Boy” San Agustin who directed Robin Padilla and FPJ. RJ appeared in the Cinemalaya film 1st Ko Si 3rd and in the 2016 MMFF film Kabisera where he played Nora Aunor’s son. But singing is his real love. He began singing in bars and out-of-town gigs.

“Gusto ko maging boses ng mga nasaktan sa love pero positive and hopeful pa din sa huli,” he says. Indeed, his fans call him the male voice of the millennials, both soulful and hopeful.

This is why RJ was overjoyed when Star Music head Roxy Liquigan and Jonathan Manalo met with him and made him a part of their recording label. “I heard RJ in a show on MOR,” Roxy said. “I was impressed.”

RJ is looking forward to a bright partnership with Star Music Philippines.

“Watch for my new single coming out very soon!”

RJ is managed by FAM (Firestarters Artists Management).
