P.3-M party drugs seized in QC

An estimated P300,000 worth of party drugs were seized from two suspects in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said 21.5 grams of cocaine worth P215,000, 36 ecstasy capsules and eight bottles of liquid ecstasy, with a street value of P55,000 and P24,000, respectively, were confiscated from a Park Villa Apartelle unit occupied by Russel Tan, 27, and Jazel Cabresos, 26, at around 5:30 a.m.

Tan, who posted bail for drug charges following his arrest in 2015, is allegedly connected a group arrested in a New Year’s Eve drug bust last year wherein authorities seized more than P1 million worth of party drugs.

QCPD director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said the two drug busts are connected to the arrest of Antonio Cisneros, a retired US Air Force intelligence officer who was arrested in a sting in Taguig last September.

In Pasig City, Michael Mendieta, Marvin Sarabia, Noriel Mendieta, and Arnel delos Santos were arrested for reportedly using shabu in Barangay Maybunga at around 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Also in Pasig, Laurence Fermin was arrested in a sting along Tawi-Tawi street in Barangay Sta. Lucia. Five sachets of shabu and P200 marked money were reportedly seized from him.

Irregular operation?

In Caloocan, six persons, two of them minors, were arrested in a sting in Barangay 73 on Monday night.

Among those arrested are alleged pushers Jomarie Lascano, 25, and his girlfriend, Kristine Macala, 22.

The parents of the other suspects belied allegations they were in a drug den during the operation.

The family of Aaron Colaste, 19, and his 14-year-old girlfriend said he was cooking dinner when police arrested them.

The mother of Cjhay Javier, 18, said police arrested her son and his 17-year-old brother at their house. Cjhay had just come out of their house while his brother was washing clothes.

In Manila, Narciso Cortez, 50; Jobern del Rosario, 48; Ron- nie Raga, 43; Michael Loyola, 42, and Fernando Tagle, 46, were reportedly caught in a drug session in a shanty in Sampaloc Monday afternoon.

Also in Manila, Dave Lamayra, 31, was arrested after police officers spotted him reportedly checking the contents of a sachet of shabu at the corner of Tambunting and Rizal Avenues at around 4:30 p.m. Monday. Three more sachets of shabu were reportedly seized from Lamayra.

In Muntinlupa City, Jonel Biscoro, 47, and Ronnie Cabarle, 29, were arrested in a sting in Barangay Bayanan before dawn yesterday.
