World bowl champ feted

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The provincial government yesterday honored Alcala, Pangasinan native Krizziah Lyn Tabora for winning the women’s crown in the 53rd Qubica AMF Bowling World Cup Championsh­ip in Mexico last November.

A plaque containing the Sanggunian­g Panlalawig­an resolution number 2-2018 was presented to Tabora during the regular Monday flag-raising rite in front of the Capitol building here.

The resolution, congratula­ting Tabora for her recent feat, was attested by Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Calimlim Jr. and noted by Gov. Amado Espino III.

The simple rite was also witnessed by the provincial government employees and department heads.

Tabora was accompanie­d by her parents and other relatives in receiving the said resolution authored by board member Rosary Gracia Perez-Tababa and co-authored by all provincial board members which was approved last Jan. 15.

The resolution said that the 26-year-old bowler is the fifth Filipino to win bowling World Cup title after Christian Suarez in 2003, Lita dela Rosa (1978), Olivia “Bong Coo” Garcia (1979), and Paeng Nepomuceno (1976, 1980, 1992 and 1996).

It also said that “Tabora’s winning is a symbol of her hard work and tremendous efforts to beat her foreign opponents from the qualificat­ion round to the finals.”

The resolution also said that Tabora’s winning “deserves the felicitati­ons of the Pangasinan community in the limelight of sports arena especially the youth, her kabaleyans and fellow bowlers.”
