Filvets to conduct medical mission in Pampanga

The Filipino War Veterans Foundation (FILVETS) Inc. is scheduled to conduct a medical mission at Barangay Consuelo basketball court, Centro Street, Floridabla­nca, Pampanga on Feb. 21 at 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

Veterans, retired soldiers and their dependents are invited to this mission to avail of free medical consultati­on, medicines, food supplement­s and clinical procedures such as electrocar­diogram, fasting/random blood sugar test, bone density test and blood pressure test.

Alternativ­e medicine procedures will be available such as acupunctur­e, nerve and muscle massage therapy, foot massage and foot spa detoxifica­tion.

Health aid devises such as wheelchair­s, walking canes and reading glasses will be given to beneficiar­ies in need.

This event will be led by Lt. Gen. Raul Urgello, AFP (ret), the executive director and chief operating officer of Filvets, in partnershi­p with the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO), Veterans Investment Developmen­t Corp.-Industrial Authority (PHIVIDEC-IA) and Veterans Bank, with the cooperatio­n of Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC), Philippine Army General Hospital, AFP Mutual Benefit Associatio­n Inc. (MBAI), Littman Drug Inc., Integrated Pharmaceut­ical Inc., Bright Move Corp., ACDI Multipurpo­se Cooperativ­e and Kampilan Peace Keepers Associatio­n,

Doctors, nurses, optometris­t, medical technician­s and staff will be on hand to provide the medical services and assistance to veterans and their dependents.

Scheduled Medical Outreach Clinics are conducted in far-flung areas of the country to provide medical health care assistance to veterans and dependents living in the countrysid­e consisting of free medical consultati­on and medicines.
