PCSO to bid out CamSur, Bohol STL franchises

- – Rainier Allan Ronda

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) will bid out franchises to operate small town lottery (STL) in Camarines Sur and Bohol.

Alexander Balutan, PCSO general manager, said they have cancelled the franchises of Evenchance Gaming Corp. and PF3 Games and Entertainment Corp. to operate STL in Camarines Sur and Bohol, respectively, for violating the PCSO’s implementing rules and regulations and failing to meet presumptive monthly retail receipts.

Balutan said they also cancelled the franchise of Golden Go Rapid Gaming Corp. to operate STL in Pangasinan and awarded it to Speed Game Inc.

He said the PCSO would fast-track the bidding process to prevent illegal numbers game operators from putting up ”bookies.”

“When there’s no legal operator, illegal operators come in .... When they take root, they will be more difficult to stop,” Balutan said.

The PCSO said it is evaluating five more gaming corporations for possible suspension, cancellation, termination or revocation of their franchises to operate STL.
