Body Talk with Danita Paner, the face of Oceanic Spa

- RICARDO F. LO

Turning older (age not revealed) on April 2, Danita Paner is at peace with Mom Daisy Romualdez (with whom she has clashed a few times), with herself and with the world, more mature and mellowed after two failed relationships with actors. “I’m in a happy place now,” she told Funfare during a “Body Talk” for her new endorsement — that is, as the first face of the seven-year-old Oceanic Spa. “Can’t you see it in my face? I’m always smiling.”

Oceanic Spa Massage, Facial & Salon is a full-service beauty spa devoted to consistently providing high client satisfaction by rendering quality service and marketing high-end products. (It’s located at Unit 8165A Dr. A. Santos Avenue, Barangay San Dionisio, Sucat, Parañaque City. For inquiries, call 028363946 or 0995-7880914.)

Danita is now under contract with the Viva Group of Companies. She’s starring in

Miss Granny with Sarah Geronimo, James Reid and new Viva artist Xian Lim; and in a yet untitled movie in which she plays the GRO girlfriend of Luigi Revilla (son of Sen. Bong Revilla) who is also producing the movie for the familyowned Imus Productions. How did you prepare for the Oceanic Spa pictorial?

“Not much because I’ve always been taking care of my body. Every part of me is original; no part has been enhanced. Before the photo shoot, I underwent a diamond-peel treatment at Oceanic Spa which has a new machine that doesn’t leave any gasgas at walang sakit. After the procedure, mayroong powder finish. The picture you will see on the billboard has not been photo-shopped.” How do you maintain your figure? “I box one hour at the gym every day.” What about your diet?

“I take Quaker oats for breakfast. I do eat rice at lunch, and no more meals after six p.m. Little snacks between meals. My diet consists mostly of sweet potato

(camote). I’m lucky kasi mabilis ang metabolism ko, so hindi ako tumataba.” What kind of food do you avoid?

“The salty ones like chichirya. If I can, I also avoid sweets, anything with sugar.” How much water do you take per day? “As many as three liters. I seldom take soft drinks.” Do you get enough sleep per night?

“If there’s no shoot or taping, I sleep for eight hours, or even longer.” Your have flawless skin. How

do you take care of it?

“Of course, Oceanic Spa helps me take care of my skin. I also apply evaporated milk on my face.” How do you cope with stress? “Luckily, stress-free na kami sa bahay.” (Laughs while looking at Mom Daisy). “Okey na kami ni Mommy.” How do you relax?

“I watch movies. I also unwind at the Tipsy Pig restaurant in The Fort. Investors kami nina Bela (Padilla) at Yassi (Pressman). It’s my first investment as a graduate of Entrepreneurship. I studied at a school owned by Lucio Tan. I’m planning to put up food carts.” Do you have night life? “Hardly.” How is your love life? “Happy.” (She’s been going

steady with a Filipino businessman for more than a year now. — RFL)

You have had two showbiz boyfriends (Kean Cipriano, now happily married to Chynna Ortaleza, and JC de Vera). What have you learned from your failed romances? “Never to get involved again with anybody from showbiz. Mahirap, eh. Not even to go on a date with them.” Are showbiz guys unfaithful? “Hmmmm…what do you think?” Favorite hideaway?

“I go to Tagaytay with my boyfriend and our friends. There’s a restaurant called Balay Dako (big house) with a panoramic view of Taal Lake. It’s very relaxing.” Favorite city?

“Tokyo. I was just there last month. It was so cold at may snow pa mandin.” Actors that you think have nice body?

“One of them is Jericho Rosales whom I admire not only as a person but also as an actor. Idol ko siya. Teka, sino pa ba ang mga aktor na naghuhubad? I can’t think of any. Oh yes, Coco (Martin) whom I haven’t seen na nakahubad. He also has a nice body. And there’s Piolo Pascual.” What about Xian? “I haven’t seen him na nakahubad. But yes, he has a nice body, too.”

You once posed as cover girl for FHM magazine. When will you be as bold for a movie or TV show? “It’s easier to do it for a

magazine pictorial. It’s harder for a movie or a TV show kasi mayroon nang interaction with your leading man. The boldest I did was show by bare back in a movie.”

By the way, what’s your outlook in life? Are you a pessimist or an optimist?

“I am an optimist. I always look at the bright side of life. I got that attitude from my mom. I am not a worrier. Why worry? It only makes life harder.” (E-mail reactions at rickylophilstar@gmail.com. For more updates, photos and videos, visit www. philstar.com/funfare or follow me on Instagram @therealrickylo.)
