Filvets golf tourney, medical outreach slated
The Filipino War Veterans Foundation (FILVETS) Inc. will hold a golf tournament dubbed “General Manuel Yan Cup” on March 16 at Manila Golf Club, Makati City.
This event aimed to raise funds to support the on-going programs and activities of Filvets in pursuit of its humanitarian mission to provide assistance in the form of medical health care assistance and technical-vocational education benefit for veterans, retired soldiers and their dependents.
Filvets’ mission was borne of the fact that the freedom, peace and democracy that Filipinos enjoy today were paid for by the blood, sweat and tears of veterans who are now living in their twilight years. It is the Filipinos’ patriotic duty to provide assistance to complement government provisions so that the unsung heroes will be given the privilege of a dignified and decent way of life as they wait to complete their earthly journey. They are worth caring for.
It is within this framework that Filvets appeals for donation from everyone sympathetic to the cause of veterans, who once offered, suffered and sacrificed their lives to spend their most fruitful years defending and protecting our country and people.
Filvets is sincerely grateful and thankful to all those who have given support in one way or another that greatly contributed to the accomplishment of its mission.
Filvets is scheduled to conduct a medical outreach clinic at the covered court of Barangay Bulihan, Silang, Cavite on March 20, 8 a.m. to 12 noon to be led by Lt Gen Raul Urgello AFP (Ret), the executive director and chief operating officer of Filvets.
Veterans, retired soldiers are invited to avail of free medical consultation, maintenance medicines and food supplements for one month consumption. For inquiries call tel. no. 5199928.
