Phoenix Open kicks off 3 World amateur events
Phoenix Petroleum, one of the leading independent oil companies in the country, will hold three big amateur golf tournaments this year, including the 10th Phoenix Open beginning Saturday at Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club in Davao City.
The Phoenix tournaments have been ranked as official World Amateur Golfers Championship qualifiers which feature five handicap divisions (0-5), (610), (11-15), (16-20) and (21-25).

This year, WAGC Philippines will stage 20 qualifying tournaments with the five-division winners to advance to the national finals in September, which offers berths in the world finals slated in Malaysia in October.
The Phoenix Petroleum’s Invitational, meanwhile, will be held on May 11 at the Manila Golf and Country Club while the concluding Phoenix Golf Open is slated on June 22 at the Cebu Country Club.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Open in Davao, powered by Phoenix Pulse Technology, will also be held in conjunction with the celebration of the 81st Araw ng Dabaw, the foundation anniversary of Phoenix Petroleum’s hometown.
