SM SUPERMALLS CELEBRATES THE FILIPINO ARTIST IN YOU
As the Philippines’ art scene blossoms, public spaces and private companies are encouraged to show more support in presenting art in comunity spaces for everyone to see and appreciate. Last February, SM Supermalls celebrated the National Arts Month by launching multiple activities that advocate and cultivate Filipino creativity.
From Baguio to Davao, the malls featured a variety of the country’s art expressions through a collection of exhibits and competitions. Over 25 malls nationwide served as alternative platforms for visual and performing arts that inspire passion among the mall-goers and promote the diverse cultural activities in the Philippines. More than gazing at art, visitors were also invited to explore their artistic side through the numerous workshops that encouraged participation.
SM Supermalls senior vice president for marketing Jonjon San Agustin highlights the importance of supporting such a cause, saying, “…through the colorful art pieces, our customers get to also enjoy a fun and refreshing vibe in the malls, apart from the usual shopping and dining.”
If you missed the Chalk Art Party and 3D Art Wall Competition in SM Baguio, the Synthesis Architectural Photography Exhibit of Marc Go in SM Aura, the Sarok Decorating Competition in SM Consolacion or the Art MADE Public Exhibit in SM Lanang Premier, you have the rest of 2018 to catch up.
In the coming months, SM Supermalls promises to feature a wider range of attractions that celebrate the arts and culture for mall-goers and art-lovers alike.
