3 women die in Taguig fire
Three women died in a fire in Taguig City Sunday.
A fire razed around 200 houses along Corocan street in the Technological University of the Philippines compound in Barangay Western Bicutan Sunday afternoon.
Marlyn Talon died in a hospital after she sustained injuries when she went back to her burning home to get her cell phone, fire investigators said.
The charred bodies of Ramona Palima, 62, and Lalen Lasagas were found by firefighters conducting mopping-up operations at around 2 a.m. yesterday.
The fire started at around 3 p.m. Sunday, reached the fifth alarm at around 4:30 p.m. and was put out at around 11 p.m.
At least 400 families were displaced by the fire. They took shelter at a nearby covered court and at the Tenement Elementary School. Meanwhile, another fire engulfed a warehouse at TBCAI Compound along Sta. Maria Drive in Barangay Bagumbayan at around 6 p.m. last Sunday.
The blaze was raised to fourth alarm at around 7:21 p.m., according to the fire bureau.
Firefighters put out the blaze at around 12:38 a.m. yesterday. No one was reported hurt or killed in the fire.
